Once you have your TourTheSchool account set up and you have upcoming tours on the calendar, it’s easy to use TourTheSchool to help families book their tour. Below are several ways:
1. Just send your link! (No website changes required)
As soon as your school’s tour page is set up, anyone can book a tour on it. Just send the link to your school’s page (e.g., [yourschool].tourtheschool.com) to anyone via email or text. For example, if someone reaches out via email your your website’s contact form asking for a tour, you can reply with a link to your new page:

2. Add a button or link to your website
The most effective way to let families book a tour (and the way to increase the number of tours you get) is to let families book directly online without having to email or message you first. There are three places on your website where you should consider adding a link:
Button (call-to-action) at the top of your website (header)
For any kind of website, a “call-to-action” button is often the most effective way to get a visitor to click or take some action. For schools, a button in the top-right corner of the website (in the header) will be the most effective location. The button should say something like, “Schedule a Tour.”

For any link to your booking page, we recommend you choose the option to have the link “open in a new tab,” so that the person visiting your website will be able to keep your school’s website open. How to do this will vary depending on the platform your website is built on, but the option is usually easy to find and generally looks like this:

“Schedule a tour” link in the navigation menu
You can also include a link to your tour page in your website’s menu:

How to add a link to your website’s navigation menu will vary depending on the platform your website is built on, but the option is usually easy to find in the area where you can create or edit menus. You’ll just need to add the URL (e.g., https://[yourschool].tourtheschool.com), add the words that should appear in the menu, and select the option to have the link “open in a new tab” if available. The option will usually look something like this:

Call-to-action button at the bottom of pages/posts
Another popular location for call-to-action buttons is at the bottom of pages and posts, so that when a visitor finishes reading about your program, curriculum, etc., they see a button to “Schedule a Tour” of the excellent program they’ve just learned about.
3. QR code in real life
If you create marketing materials to post in real life (e.g., flyers, posters, banners), create a QR code that goes to your TourTheSchool URL to let individuals get to your tour booking page in one click. Then just include the QR code on all your marketing materials.
